A full set takes two hours, your hands are an inch from someone's closed eyes, and your phone keeps buzzing: "do you have a fill on Thursday?", "how much is volume?", "can I move to 5pm?". By the time you reply, the client has booked someone else. A booking bot answers those messages for you — in Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger or Telegram — and puts the appointment straight into your calendar, with the right length for the service. Here's how to set it up as a lash and brow artist.
Why chat booking suits lash & brow artists
Your clients find you on Instagram, scroll through your sets and message you there. That's exactly where they should be able to book: pick the service, see real free times, done — at midnight after watching your Reels, or while you're mid-set. You keep working and the diary fills itself. And because lash clients come back every two to three weeks, every booking you don't have to handle by hand adds up fast.
Build your menu: full sets, fills and brows
The most common booking mistake in lash work is a fill booked into a full-set slot — or the other way round. In RentABot every service is its own booking type with its own length and price, so the bot always blocks the right amount of time:
- Full sets — classic, hybrid and volume, for example two to two and a half hours each.
- Fills — a 2-week fill and a 3-week fill as separate services, because a 3-week fill takes longer.
- Brows & lifts — brow lamination, shape and tint, lash lift and tint, and removals.
Add a photo of the style to each service: when a client picks it, the bot shows the photo with the name, description, price and duration before they choose a time. Working with another artist? Each of you is a resource with your own schedule, so two clients never land on the same bed at once. New to the setup? The getting-started guide walks through it, and the guide for nail & beauty salons covers a full salon menu.
Patch tests and prep notes, handled up front
Make a short patch test its own booking type — ten to fifteen minutes, often free — and say in your full-set description that new clients need one 24–48 hours before their first set. Put your prep rules in the service description too: arrive without mascara, contact lenses out, no caffeine right before. Clients see that description while they book, so you're not repeating it in every chat — and fewer appointments start late or get cancelled at the door.
Keep fills on schedule — and no-shows rare
A missed full set is a two-hour gap you can't easily resell. RentABot sends automatic reminders the day before and again two hours before each appointment, and clients can confirm or cancel in one tap, giving you time to fill the slot. The best habit with regulars: book the next fill before they leave — open their chat and use Book for Client, or let them pick a time in the same conversation. State your deposit or late-cancellation policy in the booking chat so it's clear up front. (RentABot handles booking and reminders; you collect any deposit your usual way.) One calendar, even if you work from home
Many lash artists work from a home studio, so the diary has to fit around real life. Connect Google Calendar and every booking appears there automatically — and anything you block in Google, from the school run to a training day, stops the bot offering those times. Move an appointment in your calendar and the booking updates, with the client notified. Here's how the two-way sync works.
Turn your Instagram into a booking page
Put your booking link in your Instagram bio and Story highlights, and post "fills open this week" Stories that send people straight to the chat. Connect Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Telegram — clients book wherever they message you, and it all lands in one calendar. Setting up Instagram first? Follow the Instagram booking guide.
